“Beauty can heal and transform us. It’s a door to love. And love is the door to all.”

I`M A POET

My poetic spirit is present in everything I create, as is drama, emotional grandeur and beauty. A critic once wrote that there was a certain elegance and rare sense of detail in my creations. And I think that’s true. I strive for aesthetical perfection. Because beauty can heal and transform us. It’s a door to love, and love is the door to all.

My visual expression as a filmmaker is classical, aiming for shots that appear as close to how our naked eye would see the images as possible, and editing that is smooth and natural in a way that the viewer can take in the story, the emotions and the message effortlessly.

As an indie filmmaker, one plays many roles, and producer is one of them. This includes researching, finding locations, casting, funding and in general keeping things together and making them happen. This is a completely natural part of the job for me, and I do it effortlessly. I like finding solutions and opportunities and talking to people. The research phase is vocational.

“My latest work is the short film Earth Ballet that I have written and directed. It premiered in movie theatres on International Mother Earth Day. It’s about a woman, who in difficult personal times is committed to finding balance in her life and doing what she can to live in harmony with her surroundings, in the midst of the climate crisis. She seeks solace, peace and strength in nature, where she connects with a higher being. The music was written and performed by the artist Maleen.”

Storyteller

“I’m not afraid of the dark and hidden emotions. On the contrary, I’m drawn to them. My wish is to make them visible. Transform and transcend them.”

I´M A REVEALER OF SECRETS

I see stories in pictures, and one image can ignite an entire plot in my imagination. Nevertheless, my approach to filmmaking is the script, with its arks and character transformation. This is what interests me profoundly, and the cinematic tools are there to back up the story and make it beautiful, even when the message is grim.

The subconscious mind and archetypes interest me, and I’m not afraid of the dark and hidden emotions. On the contrary, I’m

drawn to them. As I am to controversial issues that need to be addressed. My wish is to make them visible and transform them.

I add complexity to my stories via symbols and metaphors, leaving it up to each individual how deep and far they want to go in their interpretation. There are no limits.

Music plays a central role in my storytelling, hence the magical interaction between melodies, dynamics, rhythms and the images. They are inseparable. You cannot tell which came first.

“Time Lines is my contribution to the Canon Nordic 15 second film festival. Can a complex story be told in 15 seconds? The concept of time has interested me for as long as I can remember. Synchronicity, quantum time and regression. Intuitively I have always known that there was important information to be learned in other time dimensions.”

“If every one of us served the planet, humanity and all living things, we would regenerate ourselves and Mother Earth.”

I´M A REBEL

An idealist and a seeker of truth since I was very young, my why is about elevating spiritual and emotional awareness, as the basis for a much needed global change. Over the last few years, I too have gone through a process of awareness that has made me direct my full attention to the natural crises that we are facing.

I have made it part of my life purpose to inspire people to live in harmony with nature, consuming less, living simpler and holistic lives, cultivating organic food to share with those we love the most, respecting all living things and treating the biosphere and ecosystems as something sacred that we are part of.

If every one of us served the planet, humanity and all living things, each in our own way and lives, focusing on emotional, spiritual and biological healing, we would create peace as well as natural abundance and diversity. We would regenerate ourselves and Mother Earth.

“Food and health have always interested me. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 18 and a vegan for 6 years. Now planetary health is where my focus is. Of course, they are intrinsically connected. For the last couple of years, I have been working on a documentary on regenerative agriculture and soil. I dream of farms that are alive. Bountiful and biodiverse gardens, full of trees, perennials, annuals, wild flowers and an array of insects and birds. I dream of regenerating our soil and its life-sustaining microbiology.”

Music talks to my cells. It transports me. I’m dissolved, becoming part of it.”

Album “From Within & Beyond”

by Isabelle Denaro

I´M AN ARTIST

Music has always been an important part of my life, and since I was 9, I knew I would be a singer. Back then I would write plots and songs and stage little concerts and theatres, involving those around me. Later I majored in music and released an album, “From within and beyond”, about relationships, for better or worse. To others, to the divine and to ourselves. As I see it, we came to learn and get to know ourselves. Get aligned with our souls and our life purpose. Be better people. Do things for others, for the world and the planet.

The book of wisdom is within
Turn the page and take it in
All I need to know is there
All I have to do is dare

“I love the absurd. Irony. Being able to say the unspeakable. Exaggerating. Tragicomedy. Detecting stereotypes. Touching upon taboos.”

I’ve been blessed with a wicked sense of humor. And a very big portion of enthusiasm. I think both are essential for my attitude and the way I do things. I also realize that it’s contagious. When I laugh, I make others laugh. When I bounce off the walls with excitement over a project, an idea or a topic, people get inspired.

In 2005 and 2006 in the beginning of my filmmaking career, my husband and I produced 3 short films. One was a drama, and two were melodramatic comedies. The fun I had writing those scripts! I laughed myself to tears.

We won prizes for our comedies, and my husband says my laughing at the premieres helped… Anyway, I love the absurd. Irony. Being able to say the unspeakable. Exagerating. Tragicomedy. Detecting stereotypes. Touching upon taboos.

Laughing at how limited we sometimes are as humans, how we get stuck in our own dogmas, how much we are controlled by our subconscious mind.

“A music video about celery juice?! Really? Writing and directing this music video was a blast! I’m actually a celery juice drinker myself, but I get that some people may find the whole movement odd! In fact, to ironize on the topic, the hero in the story is more like an anti-hero, who loves to eat, sleep in and wear teddy bear onesies, so not exactly a health freak. But he’s gone all in, has filled the fridge with celery and has adopted a scientific focus on celery juicing. The music was written by the artist Nelz.”

CITIZEN OF THE WORLD. I was born in Denmark but am a citizen of the world with 6 spoken and written languages and a cosmopolitan profile, having been educated in an international atmosphere. I feel connected to many different peoples and cultures and have a natural understanding of diversity and how it enriches our world. And I’m really curious and interested in other people’s stories and lives.
